Benefits
Benefit eligible employees are those directly hired by PeaceHealth Laboratories and who are regularly scheduled to work at least 20 hours each week. All core benefit coverage begins the first of the month following 30 days of qualified employment. Voluntary benefits begin as appropriate after application and acceptance by the individual carriers.

Health and Dental Top
We offer the ability to choose one of four medical plans and one of two dental plans. Employees may enroll themselves and their whole family or specific members differently into any combination of medical, dental, and vision benefit plans.
Vision
Employees that wish to have coverage for routine eye care and to assist in the purchase of glasses or contact lenses can purchase a supplemental Vision Plan.
Life Insurance and Accidental Death and Dismemberment
MetLife provides term Life Insurance and Accidental Death and Dismemberment insurances and premiums for the core coverage are paid by PeaceHealth Laboratories.
The employee, at nominal costs, may purchase additional Life Insurance and Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance.
Long Term Disability
This benefit is provided to benefit eligible employees and premiums are paid by PeaceHealth Laboratories. There is a 90-day elimination period and benefits are paid at 60% of normal salary. Benefits are paid monthly as long as employees remain disabled up to age 65 (possibly later if disability begins after age 60).
Flexible Spending Accounts
Healthcare and Dependent Care accounts options are offered to provide tax relief that follows the IRS Section 125 code.

Retirement Savings Top
To encourage you to save and to help you build your retirement account, PeaceHealth Laboratories makes the following contributions:
  • 403(b) Employee and Matching Contributions: During the enrollment period after you complete six months of service, reach age 21 and work 400 hours (between January 1 and June 30 or July and December 31) PeaceHealth Laboratories will begin matching part of your contributions. Maximum match occurs the beginning of your fifth year of participation. You are 100% vested in all of your contributions as well as the match contributions once they begin.
  • Base Plan—During the employment period after you complete three years of qualified service and reach age 21, PeaceHealth Laboratories will make additional contributions for you. This occurs whether or not you participate in the 403(b)
Short Term Disability Top
Employees are able to purchase private policies and pay premiums through payroll deduction through The Hartford or AFLAC.
Paid Time Off Top
Regularly scheduled employees accrue time off based on all hours paid. Accrual of vacation, sick and holiday hours are all deposited into one account.
Leaves of Absence Top
Military, jury, bereavement, personal leaves are available and have differing levels of service requirements assess in determining an employee’s eligibility.
Bus Pass Top
Each employee receives a sticker to attach to their photo identification badge that allows unlimited rides on Lane Transit District (LTD) buses.
Employee Assistance Program Top
The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a free, voluntary, confidential, professional counseling service available to employees and their household family members. Some of the possible services are for resolution of personal problems that may interfere with quality of life and job performance, relationship/marital conflicts, parenting, stress, anger management, discouragement, sleep disturbances, elder care, domestic violence, substance abuse.
Educational Opportunities Top
Tuition Reimbursement Program
The tuition assistance is available for PeaceHealth Laboratories employees who are interested in advancing into other careers at PeaceHealth Laboratories. To participate employees must be scheduled to work a minimum of 20 hours each week and have meet 12 months of service
Scholarship Program
Employees who have worked for PeaceHealth Laboratories for a minimum of 12 months and are scheduled to work at least 20 hours each week are eligible to apply for participation in a collage program to complete their MT or MLT. Employees must be able to apply and obtain entrance to the program based on the university’s typical enrollment standards. Programs are offered through Medical College of Georgia’s and through Portland State Community College’s distance programs. Laboratory teaching portions for the degree programs are performed at PeaceHealth Laboratories.
Other Benefits Top
Employees may use the following programs:
  • Low Cost On-Site Fitness Center or discounts available at many local facilities.
  • Special Benefits Programs: Offset lower income employees medical premiums, provide emergency loans, and enhanced tuition reimbursement. Service requirement of six months of qualified employment apply
  • Voluntary Benefits provided through MetLife are auto, home, long term care, prepaid legal, and pet insurance.
  • LifeBalance is available to aid employees in creating balance between work and private life and offers discounts on things like theatre, concerts, skiing and more.
  • LifeCare is a web-based resource that provides information about life event management. Some of the benefits offered are Free Prenatal and Toddler Care kits are available as well as guidance on finding senior and child day care.
