Amoidarone | 1.0-3.0 ug/mL
Desethylamoidarone | Not established
Potential toxic level | >3.0 ug/mL
Interpretative Data: The therapeutic range of amiodarone is not presently well established. Toxic effects may begin above 3.0 ug/mL. The concentration of desethylamiodarone, a major metabolite, is also reported, but no therapeutic range is available. At steady-state, the metabolite concentration is similar to the amiodarone concentration. This metabolite may be pharmacologically active, but the extent of activity is not known with certainty. |
