Specimen Collection Details
Collection: One 5 mL red top tube. Also acceptable: One 4 mL green top tube (sodium heparin), 4 mL lavender top tube (EDTA), or 4 mL grey top tube (potassium oxalate/ sodium fluoride). Do not use separator tubes (SST or PST) or gels.
Handling: Allow to clot, centrifuge and separate serum or plasma from cells. Refrigerate.
Stability: 7 days ambient, 7 days refrigerated, or 2 months frozen.
Standard Volume: 1.5 mL serum or plasma.
Minimum Volume: 0.5 mL serum or plasma.
Transport: Refrigerated.
Comments: Clorazepate is assayed as Nordiazepam.
Rejection Criteria: Use of SST or PST.
