Handling: | Keep as whole blood. Diagnosis and date of birth are required for assay completion. | ||||||||
Stability: | 24 hours ambient, 72 hours refrigerated. Specimen unstable frozen. | ||||||||
Standard Volume: | 8 mL whole blood. | ||||||||

Comments: | The ApoE analysis is applicable for a patient with dementia and cannot be interpreted for asymptomatic individuals who do not present with dementia. Patient should be over age 65; specimen on a minor is not accepted. The reason for testing is required, either for diagnostic or predictive purpose. | ||||||||
Rejection Criteria: | Specimen received on individuals under age of 18; specimen received without diagnosis and date of birth.
