Comments:
The stated therapeutic range is based on a trough specimen, with the patient in the maintenance phase, and rapamycin (sirolimus) in combination with cyclosporine for a kidney transplant. A range of 12-20 ng/mL has been suggested for liver transplant. The range may vary with other transplant organs, when used in combination with drugs other than cyclosporine (or rapamycin alone), with the approach of the transplant center, and other factors.
Rejection Criteria:
Specimen left ambient longer than 24 hours; serum or plasma; clotted specimen.
