Collection: | Two 4 mL lavender top tubes (EDTA) AND two 5 mL red top tubes. Do not use serum separator tubes (SST) or plasma separator tubes (PST). | ||||||||
Handling: | Immediately after collection, continuously maintain all tubes at 37° C for one hour. Centrifuge, still maintaining at 37° C. Separate into two plastic vials and label as “serum” and “plasma.” Do not refrigerate or freeze. | ||||||||
Stability: | 7 days ambient. Unstable refrigerated or frozen. | ||||||||
Standard Volume: | 4 mL serum and 4 mL plasma. | ||||||||
