Collection: | NOTE: If unable to process specimen as directed, refer patient to any PeaceHealth Laboratories Patient Service Center. The specimen will be transported STAT to the laboratory. Collect two 5 mL red top tubes. Do not use serum separator tube (SST). |

Handling: | Specimen must clot at 37° C for 45 minutes, using a heat pack, water bath, or dry incubator. Keep specimen at 37° C until the centrifugation and separation of serum. Once separated, serum may be stored and transported refrigerated. Do not freeze. If whole bood, keep at 37° C and call for STAT courier. | ||||||||
Standard Volume: | 2 mL serum. | ||||||||
