Specimen Collection Details
Collection: One 7.5 mL serum separator tube (SST).
Handling: Centrifuge and immediately separate serum inot a plastic vial. Refrigerate.
Stability: 48 hours ambient, 14 days refrigerated, or 1 year frozen. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
Standard Volume: 1 mL serum
Minimum Volume: 0.5 mL serum
Transport: Refrigerated.
Rejection Criteria: Plasma; severely lipemic, hemolytic, or contaminated specimen.

Reference Range:
< 1:20 No antibody detection Note: Myocardial antibodies are present following myocardial infarction (28-31%), acute rheumatic fever (25-43%) and in post-pericardiotomy syndrome. All positives are titered to endpoint. If Myocardial Ab is 1:20, a titer will be added.
