Specimen Collection Details
Collection: One 5 mL red top tube. Do not use a serum separator tube (SST). Also acceptable: One 4 mL green top tube (heparin), 4 mL lavender top tube (EDTA), or 4 mL grey top tube (sodium fluoride/potassium oxalate).
Handling: Centrifuge and separate serum or plasma into a plastic vial.
Stability: 7 days ambient, 7 days refrigerated, or 2 months frozen.
Standard Volume: 1 mL serum or plasma
Minimum Volume: 0.5 mL serum or plasma
Transport: Refrigerated.

Reference Range:
Diazepam 0.2-1.0 µg/mL – Based on normal dosage amounts
Nordiazepam 0.06-1.80 µg/mL – Based on normal dosage amounts
Toxic: > 2.50 µg/mL
