ThinPrep Vial: 21 days ambient, 21 days refrigerated. Unstable frozen.

Standard Volume: Digene Media: 1 mL medium
ThinPrep: 4 mL medium.
Transport: Refrigerated.
Comments: The majority of anal cancers are squamous cell carcinomas (in situ and epidermoid), which are usually associated with HPV.
Rejection Criteria: Specimen in SurePath.
