Specimen Collection Details
Collection: One 7.5 mL serum separator tube (SST).
Handling: Allow to clot, centrifuge and immediately separate serum from cells into a plastic vial. Refrigerate.
Stability: 2 hours ambient, 14 days refrigerated, or 4 weeks frozen. Allow no more than one freeze/thaw cycle.
Standard Volume: 2.0 mL serum
Minimum Volume: 0.5 mL serum
Transport: Refrigerated.
Comments: For detection and monitoring the treatment of clonal disorders of the bone marrow (myeloproliferative disorders such as leukemia).
Rejection Criteria: Plasma; hemolysis or lipemia; tube other than specified.

Kappa Free Light Chains 0.33-1.94 mg/dL
Lambda Free Light Chains 0.57-2.63 mg/dL
Kappa/Lambda Free Light Chain Ratio 0.26-1.65
