Collection: | One 5 mL red top tube. Also acceptable: One 4 mL lavender top tube (EDTA), one 4 mL green top tube (sodium heparin). DO NOT use serum separator tube (SST) or plasma separator tube (PST). | ||||||||
Handling: | Levetiracetam is unstable in whole blood; serum or plasma should be separated immediately. Allow to clot, centrifuge and separate serum or plasma from cells into a plastic vial. Refrigerate. | ||||||||
Stability: | 6 weeks ambient, 6 weeks refrigerated, or 6 weeks frozen. | ||||||||
