Specimen Collection Details
Collection:
One 5 mL red top tube. Do not use serum separator tube (SST). Also acceptable: Plasma, heparinized.
Handling:
Allow to clot, centrifuge and separate serum or plasma from cells into a plastic vial. Refrigerate.
Standard Volume:
3 mL srum or plasma
Minimum Volume:
0.6 mL serum or plasma. Note: micro method does not allow for repeat testing or confirmations.
Transport:
Refrigerated.
Comments:
Trough levels are most reproducible.
Rejection Criteria:
Use of SST.
Reference Range:
The therapeutic range for paroxetine has not been established. The stated range on this report are the observed concentrations in patients who are not elderly and do not have renal nor hepatic dysfunction.
