Collection: | One 2 mL grey top tube (sodium fluoride/potassium oxalate). Cottage Grove only: One 4 mL green top tube (heparin). The patient should avoid any exercise of the arm or hand before or during collection. Optimally, the draw should be done without the use of a tourniquet. Tube should be at least half full. |

Handling: | Centrifuge and separate plasma from cells into a plastic tube within 4 hours; keep tightly capped and refrigerated at 2-8° C. Minimize exposure to air. Cottage Grove only: Do not centrifuge. Send as whole blood. |
