| Collection: | Two 6 mL pink top tubes (EDTA for Blood Bank). Also acceptable: Two 4 mL lavender top tubes (EDTA). | ||||||||
| Handling: | Do not centrifuge or separate plasma. Accurate labelling of patient’s first and last name and date of birth on tubes and requisition is required. Tube should be labelled at the time blood is drawn. Do not cover original label. If test other than for Blood Bank are ordered, send separate specimen for those tests. |
