Stability:
24 hours ambient for all organisms except Neisseria gonorrhoeae (GC). Specimen for GC stable 6 hours ambient. Specimens unstable frozen.

Comments:
Media is available from Client Services for direct inoculation, particularly corneal scrapings. Potential pathogens will be identified. Susceptibility testing will be done if appropriate. Additional charges will be added for each these tests.
Rejection Criteria:
Delayed transport; unsterile container; frozen specimen; swab not in transport medium.
