Collection: | One 5 mL red top tube. Also acceptable: 10 mL green top tube (sodium heparin) or 4 mL lavender top tube (EDTA) or 4 mL grey top tube (potassium oxalate/ sodium fluoride). Do not use serum separator tube (SST) or plasma separator tube (PST). | ||||||||
Handling: | Allow to clot, centrifuge and separate serum or plasma from cells immediately. Freeze. Allow no more than one freeze/thaw cycle. | ||||||||
Stability: | After separation, 4 hours ambient, 7 days refrigerated, or 1 month frozen. | ||||||||
