Collection: | NOTE: Please ask your Account Executive for the closest testing facility. If you wish to perform this test at your facility, special setup and training are required prior to ordering the kit from Client Services. Patient must be 1) fasting (nothing by mouth, including water) for 6 hours prior to test, 2) be off all antibiotics and bismuth-containing medication (e.g., Pepto-Bismol) for 30 days, and 3) be off all proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) [Omeprazole (Prilosec), Prevacid and sucralfate [Carafate)] for 14 days prior to test. Provide on the Patient Information Form any information on specific antibiotic therapy for H. pylori patient may have received. Follow explicitly the instructions in collection kit; fill one balloon with exhaled air at 10 minutes and one balloon at 15 minutes post ingestion of carbon-14 capsule (a radioactive isotope). |
