Edit Date: 3/6/2008
Performed: Daily
Released: 24-72 hours after setup at PeaceHealth Laboratories’ reference lab.
CPT Code: 87529-90
Specimen Collection Details
Collection: For specimens other than blood use Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV) by Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) (58490). Collect one 5 mL red top tube. Also acceptable: One 7.5 mL serum separator tube (SST) or one 4 mL lavender top tube (EDTA).
