Specimen Collection Details
Collection: 24-hour urine collected in a clean plastic urine container with no metal cap or glued inserts. Refrigerate during collection.
Handling: 24-hour volume is required for processing. Send specimen in a clean, dry plastic aliquot container with no metal cap or glued insert.
Standard Volume: 10 mL urine.
Minimum Volume: 7 mL urine.
Transport: Refrigerated.
Comments: The reference value is for a 24-hour collection. Specimens collected for other than a 24-hour time period are reported in units of µg/L, for which reference values are not established.
Rejection Criteria: Urine container with metal cap or glued insert.
