Comments:
Inhibin A is used as a second trimester marker as part of the maternal serum quad screen, as well as a tumor marker. Inhibin A levels are elevated if the fetus is affected by Down syndrome. Levels are also affected by gestational age, maternal weight, number of fetuses, and preeclampsia. Elevated levels may be seen in ovarian (granulose cell) cancers.
