Specimen Collection Details
Collection: One 7.5 mL serum separator tube (SST).
Handling: Allow to clot, centrifuge and separate serum from cells and pour into a plastic vial. Refrigerate.
Stability: 48 hours ambient, 7 days refrigerated, or 30 days frozen.
Standard Volume: 4 mL serum.
Minimum Volume: 2 mL serum.
Transport: Refrigerated.
Rejection Criteria: Plasma; lipemic, moderately or grossly icteric, and hemolyzed specimens are not suitable for analysis. Specimen requirements must be met to prevent a QNS result.

Reference Range:
This panel is used to aid in the screening and diagnosis of autoimmune disorders such as Mixed Connective Tissue Diseases, Systemic Lupus Erythematosus, Sjogren Syndrome, CREST syndrome (calcinosis, Raynaud’s syndrome, esophageal dysfunction, sclerodactyly and telangiectasia), Idiopathic Raynaud’s Syndrome, drug induced lupus, ANA-negative lupus, diffuse scleroderma, etc., also including autoimmune thyroiditis, rheumatoid arthritis, and atypical autoimmune disorders. Individual components are also available.
