One 5 mL red top tube. Also acceptable: One 4 mL green top tube (heparin). Do not use serum separator tube (SST) or gels. |
Handling: |
Allow to clot at ambient temperature, centrifuge and separate 1 mL serum or plasma from cells and pour into plastic vial immediately. Refrigerate. |
Stability: |
7 days ambient, 3 weeks refrigerated, or 6 months frozen. |
Standard Volume: |
1 mL serum or plasma. |
