Laboratory Services now Available in Florence

(Florence, Ore) – Hundreds of uninsured Florence area residents will benefit from discounted

medical laboratory services available through PeaceHealth beginning August 9.

The EasyAccess Savings Program is designed to help

meet the needs of the nearly 70,000 uninsured Lane County residents who may not

be able to afford quality laboratory testing to maintain their health.

The discount is available to participants who pay

for their laboratory testing at the time of service and applies to most tests collected

at a PeaceHealth Laboratories Patient Service Center. In Florence, the program

is available at Peace Harbor Hospital’s Patient Service Center at 396 Ninth Street.

“Given the economic environment and the number of

uninsured individuals in our community, we felt our mission called us to find a

way to assist our patients in maintaining their health,” said Ran Whitehead,

CEO and Chief Mission Officer of PeaceHealth Laboratories. “We’re pleased to

offer this program at 10 of our 10 Lane County Patient Service Centers, as well

as locations in Roseburg, Sutherlin and Portland area.”

The program has been well received in other

communities with participants commenting “Nice to save money when we don’t have

insurance at this time,” “Quick and easy – don’t have to wait for a bill!” and

“The program exceeded my expectations concerning price and patient care.”

Representative pricing includes a lipid panel for

$23.94 reduced from $39.90 and a vitamin B12 level for $27.53 reduced from

$45.89. Participants must pay by cash, credit card or personal check at time of

service and may not bill insurance for reimbursement.
