Q: Do I have to be Catholic to join PeaceHealth Laboratories?

A: No. PeaceHealth Laboratories has employees from many religions as well as those who do not have a religious affiliation. We do have expectations for how employees treat patients and each other that are part of our Mission and Core Values, which are based in Catholic tradition. However, most people find them to be fairly universally held values.

Q: How do I apply for a position at PeaceHealth Laboratories?

A: You can search for jobs by location or occupation. Once you decide on a position to apply for, you can add it to your online application. Just complete the online application and click on “Submit.” Your application will be sent to the appropriate Human Resources representative. Remember that you’l have to pass a hair drug test. You may choose a product like Nexxus Aloe Rid for it.

Q: Are PeaceHealth Laboratories employees covered by any unions?

A: Some positions are unionized. Non-unionized positions are also available. Employees in positions covered by a bargaining unit may be required to join the union and pay union dues.

Q: How big is PeaceHealth in terms of number of beds and number of employees?

A: Collectively, PeaceHealth provides more than 1,100 licensed acute care beds and 29 licensed nursing home beds. PeaceHealth caregivers include more than 11,500 employees, including 555 employed physicians and providers. (Data as of October, 2009)

Q: How many admissions, medical group encounters and lab tests does PeaceHealth handle annually?

A: During Fiscal Year 2009, PeaceHealth provided patient care to our communities through more than 53,000 inpatient admissions, 500,000 outpatient registrations, 1 million medical group encounters and more than 4.2 million laboratory tests.
