Our Mission and Values
In 1858, Mother Joseph, a Canadian nun, started providing medical care for the sick in Vancouver. She established the present-day PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center. And she was a skilled fundraiser! She would send the young nuns to the nearby mining camps to raise the $1 per day needed for patients at her small hospital. With the money raised, every patient who required care was given it.
In that regard, nothing has changed. Outstanding medical care and excellent caring for every person are priorities for both our Foundation and Medical Center. Yet in order to provide treatment for everyone, regardless of capacity to pay, and to ensure that PeaceHealth Southwest has the best facilities, the most up-to-date technology, and the best staff and physicians, we need your assistance.
