Specimen Collection Details
Collection: One 7.5 mL serum separator tube (SST).
Handling: Immediately centrifuge and separate serum into a plastic vial.
Stability: 48 hours ambient, 14 days refrigerated, or 1 year frozen.
Standard Volume: 1 mL serum.
Minimum Volume: 0.5 mL serum.
Transport: Refrigerated.
Comments: Parallel testing is preferred. Plainly mark ‘acute’ or ‘convalescent’ on specimens. Convalescent specimen must be received within 30 days of the acute specimen.
Rejection Criteria: Hemolytic, lipemic, turbid, contaminated, or heat-inactivated specimen.

Referene Range:
Yersinia Species Antibody, IgA
Negative – No significant Yersinia IgA antibodies detected.
Positive – IgA antibodies to Yersinia detected.
Yersinia Species Antibody, IgG
Negative – No significant Yersinia IgG antibodies detected.
Equivocal – Questionable presence of Yersinia IgG antibodies detected. May be an indication of recent infection. Repeat testing in 10-14 days may be helpful.
Positive – IgG antibodies to Yersinia detected.
