24-hour urine in a 24-hour urine container containing 10 mL 6N hydrochloric acid (HCl) as a preservative. Specimen may also be collected without a preservative if kept refrigerated during collection and transport. Note time collection started and stopped. |
| Handling: |
Send complete collection in original container. If submitting aliquot, mix total collection well, then measure and record total volume before pouring off into a sterile container. Refrigerate. Refrigerate. pH will be adjusted to <3.0 if necessary after receipt at performing laboratory. |
