Interpretive Note: Elevated values of thyroglobulin antibodies are seen in Hashimoto’s disease, primary hypothyroidism and Grave’s disease. While not diagnostic, the detection of thyroglobulin antibodies can aid in predicting progression of clinical thyroiditis, in further substantiating thyroid disease in patients with non-thyroidal illness and in predicting postpartum thyroiditis.
