One 7.5 mL serum separator tube (SST). |
Handling: |
Allow to clot, centrifuge and immediately separate serum into a plastic vial. Label specimen clearly as ‘pre-vaccine’ or ‘post-vaccine’. |
Stability: |
48 hous ambient, 14 days refrigerated, or 1 year frozen. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. |

1 mL serum. |

150 µL serum. |

Comments: |
Pre- and post-diptheria/tetanus vaccine specimens should be submitted for testing. Post-specimen should be drawn 30 days after immunization and, if shipped separately, must be received within 60 days of pre-specimen. |
