Collection: |
One 7.5 mL serum separator tube (SST). Also acceptable: One 4 mL green top tube (heparin) or one 4 mL lavender top tube (EDTA). NOTE: Specimen should be collected between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m. |
Handling: |
Allow to clot, separate serum or plasma from cells and pour into a plastic vial. Freeze immediately. If multiple tests are ordered, send separate specimen for this test. |
Stability: |
24 hours ambient, 7 days refrigerated, or 6 months frozen. |
