PeaceHealth Laboratories Receives Accreditation from
the College of American Pathologists
The laboratory has been accredited by CAP for nearly 30 years and is one of 9 accredited PeaceHealth Laboratories in the Pacific Northwest. Each laboratory is inspected and earns its accreditation independently on a biennial basis.
During the CAP accreditation process, inspectors examine the laboratory’s records and quality control of procedures for the preceding two years. CAP inspectors also examine the entire staff’s qualifications, the laboratory’s equipment, facilities, safety program and record as well as the overall management of the laboratory. This stringent inspection meets federal requirements established by the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) to ensure the highest standard of care for patients.
PeaceHealth Laboratories combines innovation and state-of-the-art technology with outstanding service and value to health care providers and individuals throughout the Pacific Northwest. With 10 laboratories and 22 patient service centers spanning Washington, Oregon and Alaska, PeaceHealth Laboratories is one of the largest laboratory systems in the region. The CAP inspection program is designed to ensure the highest standard of care for all laboratory patients and is in alignment with the PeaceHealth vision that every patient will receive safe, evidence-based compassionate care; every time, every touch.
